Rock in Chicago
I just got back last night from Chicago. Tuesday night I went to a fabulous concert, the Killers! It was their opening show for “Sam’s Town” album. Brandon rocked that stage! I was somewhat disappointed in the crowds lack of energy but during the songs that everyone knew like Mr. Brightside it seemed to pick up. Also, does anyone else get completely annoyed by the people who start pushing their way through the crowd to get through the front? You have stood there during the entire opening act but now for some reason these people feel they deserve to be in front of you once the main act is on. Continually you get pushed back and pushed back and yet even further back. Even with the drunk annoying crowd the concert still rocked and I will totally be seeing them again when they come to Cincinnati.
As far as Chicago, how do people afford to live there? First of all who actually shops on Michigan avenue? One of the cheapest things I found was a scarf for $200. Are there enough rich people to actually keep Michigan avenue open? Apparently so.
Another thing I noticed was the mass number of men who liked to express their attraction to us. I went with Tammy and Stacey and one gentleman stated we looked better than Charlie’s Angels. That one at least made us laugh but the other dozen or so times we were hit on were mostly creepy and made us feel uncomfortable. In particular a russian gentleman at one of the bars who not only winked and waved at us all night but also had the nerve to walk over our table and harass us as he rubbed his big gut. I took a nice long hot bath afterwards to wash away the filth of the city.
On a definate positive side I was blown away by the art presence in the community. There was a gallery on every corner and a plethera of art schools. Its not just the galleries. Theres tons of things going on from museums to musicals. I wanted to see blue man group but alas not enough time.
I am back though and ready to get back to painting and creating. Watch my store for some new stuff. I made some purses and an apron and a couple bibs using iron ons. I am putting on the finishing touches with ribbon and fabric but they are super cute so you won’t want to miss out.
