The First Day of the Rest of My Life…
Now let me first say I am looking at 2007 as a great new year. One to start with a fresh slate. However, though I have many resolutions I plan to not discuss them in this post. I fear it may be setting myself up for failure so I plan to wait until another day to discuss these goals or life changes. Plus, isn’t it fun to be different than everyone else?
Sorry its been so long since I last posted but I am sure you can all agree with the fact that life gets crazy around the holiday season. I had a fantastic Christmas and new year and I hope all of you did as well. My little one, Zoe bear, had an incredible Christmas even though she was still terrified when Santa made an appearance at my family reunion. I loved watching her open her presents; with each one she would mae and adorable “O” face and then exclaim something adorable like “oh, wow, this looks fun” or “very pretty”.
The cutest though was when she opened her new VW beetle Mawmaw got her. Now mind you mawmaw and aunt Tammy have convertable beetles so it was a must Miss Zoe Bear got one too. My crazy mother and incredible mother was at Walmart at 4 am on “black friday” to ensure she got one. Heres the play by play of her opening it on Christmas day:
“Are you sure thats mine?”
“Well where do I open it?”
“Now we’re in business!”
“So tell me again how this gas thing works.”
When all was said and done Zoe was happy with her new red VW and Barbie was pleased to have her new blue VW Beetle. I guess mommy needs one and then everyone will be in bug heaven.
Something struck me this year that made me very sad. Most of my Christams decorations were lost in the separation from my husband. I had the basic decorations but I want to start building a stockpile of winter wonderland glory. I have been scouting the after christmas sales but things are still out of my price range. Another sad Christmas related issue, I got so far behind on my blog reading I missed out on the super cute free gift tags supplied by Kitty Genius. Oh well, maybe next year.
I made all kinds of cute prints for my family as Christmas presents as well as some yummy cupcakes. Both seemed to be enjoyed a lot. After seeing everyone’s reaction to the prints on canvas I decided as part of my new year resolutions I would switch all my prints in my etsy store to canvas prints. Though this costs more the colors are so much more vibrant I just don’t want to compromise. I have updated the store to reflect theses changes as well as slash many of the prices of my originals. I am trying to clear out the store and refocus the direction of my art.
OMG, thank you SOOOO much to liquid blog for sharing this amazing link! The color inspired me and I actually found myself overflowing with incredible ideas for paintings. I sketched the ideas out and can’t wait to get started.
In addition I wanted to say my thoughts and prayers are with the Kim family as they face this new year. Know that in the new year people are still thinking of you and standing by you.

Your daughter is adorable. It is so heart-warming to see all the love you have for her. I am so glad she has a mommy who will share “Anne of Green Gables” with her!!! I remember being in jr. high and just being fascinated with “Anne.” I think they ran the series on PBS and I would be so devastated because they would show it for something like 3 hours and I would be enthralled and hooked…Then it would say “to be continued” and I never could figure out when they would start the next series. My point? I just realized, “I am an adult now, I can go to the store and purchase it at the drop of a hat!” hehe. Thank you for reminding me of “Anne”. I can’t wait to sit and cry also, and watch her and her long dark haired bossom-body friend…and watch her cut off all her hair and float away in a boat with a huge leak in it and fall in love, and have some drama on a bridge…Yes, it is all coming back to me! Thanks for the re-invigoration of it all.. Ah.
