Holiday Hustle and Bustle
So things have finally been slowing down and now that I actually have time to breath I have been working on holiday gifts. I chose a print or original for all my family and friends this year and I am hoping that it will all be well received. I always worry it will seem egotistical of me to give out my own work but last year it was so well received and it helps me stay within my holiday budget. I even splurged on some mattes and frames this year so I really hope everyone likes what I chose for them.
I purchased some items for my immediate family and then I also drew a portrait for my mother of my daughter Zoe. I enjoyed drawing it so much I have started offering custom portraits in my shop. I will have to give them a trial run and see how time consuming they become but I am thinking the orders will be easily manageable numbers.
Speaking of custom work I also finished up work on some custom baby announcements. I had a great time on these as well. I ended up printing the cards myself with my new super sexy Canon Pixma Pro9000! They turned out AWESOME! The thing has 8, yes count them, EIGHT ink cartridges. The gal who purchased the announcements also decorated her nursery with my art, pictures are below. My work tends to be very popular in nurseries and being a mother myself of a three year I think that is super cool. Congrats to Tracy and Steve on baby Colette!
Stay tuned because the second in my oil series is receiving the finishing touches.
